Start with a Central Theme
Begin your lesson planning journey by identifying the central theme or learning objective you want to address. Use Ideamapper to create a central idea representing the theme and branch out from there to capture key concepts, topics, and activities related to your lesson.
Break it Down
Break down your lesson into manageable chunks or segments. Use ideamapper’s Focused Brainstorming mode to note down each of the areas you want to cover, such as your Lesson Goals, Warm Up Activity, Resources etc. This will help you organize your thoughts and ensure a coherent flow of information throughout the lesson.
Craft Your Lesson
Use either the Split-Screen or Text-View to see your map in a linear text structure, and start adding in your content under each idea. For example, under Warm Up, you can add what you want to cover before you go into the body of your lesson and outline any activities you want to take place in this section.
Incorporate Your Resources
Any resources that you have used to plan your lesson can be linked within Ideamapper. Simply right-click on your map and select ‘New’ then ‘Hyperlink’ and a link icon will appear. Next, double-click on the icon and add your title, select your link type, and then paste in your URL. Click ‘Launch’ to test if the URL is correct. When you next double-click the link icon, it will open your resource. To edit the link, right-click and choose one of the edit options.
